Power and mobility from solar electricity integrated through smart technology and connection to the grid.

WattNext

The 20th century's incredibly beneficial but ultimately destructive energy source—fossil fuels—will eventually be replaced by clean and abundant energy from the sun. Delivered as electricity, it will serve any need, including transportation. The "smart grid" will enable the collection, storage, distribution and use for the greatest utility and economy.

WattNext is creating the infrastructure that connects solar power, electric vehicles, and the "smart grid". Let us coach you and help design and build your smart investment.

WattNext was incorporated in 2009 and originally named Sunwise Power Systems. It is the first for-profit spinout company from the non-profit environmental technology business incubator, RubeLab, Inc.

All WattNext principals are active RubeLab members.

The WattTree is the commercial version of the RubeStation, an electric vehicle charging station prototype, developed and built by RubeLab and donated to the City of Eustis. The RubeStation is located on Fountain Green in downtown Eustis, Florida.

Partners

WattNext brings in-house designs to life to deliver best-in-class energy systems with the help of partner companies that share our commitment to building a greener and more economically viable future.

A123 logoA123 Systems is a very innovative American company that develops and manufactures advanced lithium-ion batteries and energy storage systems. The company's proprietary Nanophosphate® technology delivers exceptional energy density, long life, and excellent safety performance. The ability to decouple generation from the load enables utilities and solar farms to moderate peak demands. WattNext expects widespread adoption of A123's energy storage solutions in Florida and beyond. We are excited to partner with America's truly state of the art battery company.

NovaCharge logoNovaCharge is the exclusive distributor in the southeast United States of the ChargePoint System of network-connected, smart grid ready, electric vehicle charging stations. ChargePoint was designed and is domestically manufactured by Coulomb Technologies, and is the state of the art for EV infrastructure. WattNext is excited to be a NovaCharge Partner and sees great opportunity to accelerate the adoption of environmentally friendlier electric vehicles through integration of the ChargePoint System with our own distributed power generation model.

Spencer Fabrications logoSpencer Fabrication of Tavares, Florida is expert in building metal public space structures and has its handicraft on display in diverse locations including the new Yankee Stadium in New York City, Disney World, and Lynx bus-stop shelters in Orlando. The fine metalwork of the RubeStation - the prototype charging station on which the WattTree is based - is the work of Spencer. We expect most of the metal structure for WattNext products to be manufactured and installed by Spencer. We are very happy that this high quality company is working with us and employing local skilled labor at their factory in our next-door-neighbor town.

Superior Solar logoWe believe Superior Solar of Longwood, Florida is our absolute best choice for supplying and installing the photovoltaic equipment and completing the final steps needed to begin producing power and sending it on to the grid. Superior has been successful in the solar energy business for over 25 years and has a wealth of equipment and installation experience. Superior has remained successful over time in a very difficult and volatile industry because of its commitment to providing quality products and professional installation at an attractive price to end purchasers.
